Design and Lo specialises in residential and boutique hospitality design, creating unique spaces combining a modern aesthetic with classic elegance. Our personalised services include interior and architectural design to cater for your aspirations and budget. Our studio works on a variety of projects predominately across London, the South East and the home counties, however we do cover other areas in the UK and further afield.
We offer a variety of services including a full bespoke design from concept to completion, space planning, E-design or hourly consultation if you need help with particular design decisions, or simply want to get those specific design queries answered.

Established in 2019 by founder Lois Skelding, Design & Lo is an interior design studio specialising in residential and hospitality design. Based on the south coast, we cover London, the surrounding areas and further afield in the U.K. We offer clients a warm and friendly tailored design service to bring their visions to life.
Design & Lo’s style is the perfect balance of modern design with classic traditional detailing. Timeless interior elegance is at the heart of each project, complimented with a curated blend of eclectic pieces, colour and pattern. Lois leads a talented, creative and experienced design team working on a variety of unique projects.
We are passionate about craftsmanship and sustainable quality products which we include in each project. We support local artisans and British manufacturing and strive to specify furniture, materials and unusual pieces that are quality and stand the test of time. We stand against a throwaway culture and fleeting trends and believe that interior environments should still be relevant in years to come.

Lois Skelding
Lois Skelding, founder and creative director of Design & Lo is a SBID Accredited Interior Designer, leading a passionate, creative and dynamic design team working on a variety of residential and boutique hospitality projects in the UK and abroad.
After obtaining a first-class degree in Interior Architecture and Design, Lois spent ten years with London based interior design practices working on award winning projects in the UK, Europe and the USA.
Passionate about classic and quality design, craftmanship with a timeless aesthetic, Lois believes that a curated balance between old and new can create distinctive and unforgettable spaces.
Our Work / The Studio
Our aim is to make interior design accessible and approachable, combining warmth and familiarity to make the process as seamless and enjoyable as possible. We pride ourselves on understanding our client’s requirements in detail always aiming to exceed expectations. Each project is distinctive, we work to create layered, soulful designs that artfully blend modern and classical elements.
Our studio has worked on a range of varied projects and we are proud to have been recognised by Homes and Gardens magazine and feature on The List. In 2021 our Victorian extension project in Balham was also featured in Real Homes magazine.
